No Fuss Pizza Crust
This week at Home Store + More we're teaching you how to make a Super Simple Pizza! Home-made pizza can be a healthier and cheaper option than ordering from a take-away, and you have the freedom to add exactly what toppings you feel like! This tasty Italian treat is quick and cheesy to make, below is everything you'll knead to get a pizza the action!
You will need:
- 1 x mixing bowl
- 1 x measuring spoons
- 1 x wooden spoon
- 1 x frying pan
- 1 x grater
- 1 x garlic crusher
- 1 x chopping board
- 1 x chopping knife
- 1 x pizza tray
- 1 x pizza cutter
Ingredients: Base
- 375g plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tablespoon caster sugar
- 7g dried active baking yeast
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 225ml warm water (45°C)
Ingredients: Sauce
- 200ml tomato passata
- 2 tablespoons tomato puree
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 4 basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 300g chedder cheese, grated
- Selection of toppings
Recipe:
- Combine flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a large bowl. Mix in oil and warm water until a smooth dough is formed
- In a large frying pan on a high heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil, garlic, oregano and onion. Cook until the onion becomes translucent
- Add passata, tomato puree, salt and pepper to the pan. Keep at a high heat and stir for 5 minutes. Add the basil leaves, reduce to a low heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Leave to one side
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-8 minutes. Return to the dough to the bowl and cover with a tea towel. Place the bowl in a warm place and let it prove for 45 minutes (the dough should double in size)
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Spread the dough out onto a pizza tray
- Spread the tomato sauce on the dough and add your choice of toppings
- Bake for 20-25 mins until the cheese begins to bubble
