Candle Care Guide
Before Burning
· Remove all packaging and place candle on a stable heat resistant surface. Ensure the candle is placed 10cm away from other candles and items, away from sources of heat, out of drafts and in a well-ventilated room. If the candle has been used previously, ensure that the wick has been trimmed to the recommended length (10mm). Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning, dripping, flaring or excessive smoking.
During Burning
- Burn your candle for a minimum of 1 hour the first time, let it burn for one hour for every 1 inch of its diameter or ensure all wax pool reaches the edge of the candle jar on the first burn. This will allow the wax to burn evenly.
- If there are multiple wicks, light all of them each time.
- Never leave a candle unattended or burn on or near anything that might catch fire. Never burn a candle on or near drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, decorations, or anything else that can easily catch fire.
- Avoid draughts and keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Maintain a minimum 10cm distance between burning candles.
- Use a suitable candleholder on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep the wax pool free of trimmings and debris to prevent flaring.
- Avoid moving a burning or recently extinguished candle. If skin irritation occurs, wash with soap and water and seek medical advice.
- Carefully extinguish a flickering, smoking, or excessively high flame using a candle snuffer to prevent splattering of hot wax. Avoid blowing or using water.
- Avoid touching the glass while the candle is lit.
- Keep the candle lit for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours to prevent tunnelling.
- Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Stop burning the candle when 30mm of wax remains at the bottom, and keep an eye on it when the wax is low.
- Extinguish the candle when half an inch of wax remains at the bottom to prevent heat damage or combustion to the surface.
After Burning
- After each burn, allowed the wax to cool down for two hours, and trimmed before relighting.
- Trim the candle wick to approximately 10mm after every 4 hours of burn time before every burn using a scissors or wick trimmer. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning & smoking. Take care not to split the wick’s threads.
- Candle wax and fragrance can be sensitive to temperature and light. Store candles in a cool, dry place, and out of direct sunlight when not used for long periods.
- When the candle is used, please dispose of contents/container at an approved disposal site, in accordance with local regulations.
